Quote of the Day

The empires of the future are the empires of the mind.

Winston Churchill

Concept Briefing: Co-sourcing is a method of procuring necessary skills by contacting an outside consultant to co-work with staff from inside an organization to perform a certain task. Co-sourcing has advantages over total outsourcing as it minimises sourcing risks, brings in transparency, clarity and better control over the processes outsourced. It may also help enhance internal skills.

Example of co-sourcing is outsourcing part of software development or software maintenance activities to an external organization, while keeping part of the development in-house. One of more aspects of internal audit function such as IT audit may also be a good candidate for co-sourcing.
